About Me

Who Am I?

Hi I'm Prudhvi Raj Rongali am Electrical engineer living in Greater detroit area, Michigan. I have a master's degree in Computer Engineering from University of Michigan, Dearborn. I've always been facinated with the science and technology and power it holds in shaping our life's today. Especially, the semicondctor industry that created a whole ecosystem of consumer electronics. My fascination for this industry coupled with exciting prospects and large scope for innovation in the field of Computer Engineering, made me to decide up on earning more knowledge in this field through academic and industry experiences.

Further, I believe that research is a human methodology invented and developed not only to push the limit of human knowledge, But also to improve the quality of individual and group life. As a graduate student, I took opportunity to gain research experience by choosing thesis towards my degree, worked with great advisor and supportive research group. For me the grad school has a major positive impact professionally and at personal level. I always look forward to advance my knowledge and I consider myself a life longlearner.

Outside of work, I love adventure sports, painting, playing soccer, attending music concerts and building fun little electronic projects, 3D printing.

Work Experience

Electrical Engineer at Reverie 2017-Present

Currently, Working in R&D depatrment and following are the various projects and responsibilities:

  • Designed PCB for plug-in IOT module for voice activated adjustable bed base.
  • Developed Firmware module for SPI communication between BLE SoC and WIFI SoC module.
  • Developed the drivers for TFT display and accelerometer sensor along with production ready PCB for sensor module.
  • Developed Firmware module for UART serial communication between BLE SoC and external MCU.
  • Designed and implemented BLE Firmware module to perform external MCU OTA Firmware update.
  • Coordinated with overseas engineering team to ensure Firmware satisfies system needs and delivered production ready Firmware for new product line of 6 control box models.
  • Guided the customer service team members in troubleshooting customer complaints related to control boxes, actuators and remote controllers.
  • Responsibilities also include maintaining source code, review test reports, prepare and issue ECR, Finalizing the production ready BLE Firmwares for Remotes and Control boxes used with adjustable bed bases.

Research Assistant at University of Michigan, Dearborn 2016-2017

  • Conducted academic research on V-X communication based speed advisory eco driving models for conventional, hybrid vehicles and built optimization algorithms in MATLAB environment.
  • Conducted academic research on V-X communication based speed advisory eco driving models for conventional, hybrid vehicles and built optimization algorithms in MATLAB environment.
  • Developed an integratable V-X communication-based conventional vehicle fuel optimization model for real-time traffic conditions. In several case studies the proposed model reduced the computation time by 95.98% and reduced the travel duration by 20.30% compared to distance based model under study.
